“Oh it’s um…” I answered quickly looking around for something unusual that’ll save my ass. ‘Crap I’m screwed, alright time to improvise.’ I thought as the other me inside my head panicked. “It’s that!” I said pointing up towards the dome’s ceiling.

Yuki looked up and gasped. “Would you look at that, that’s very interesting.”

“What?” I asked looking up as well.

Apparently there was a noticeable crack in the dome.

I whistled. “Wow, would you look at that. Maybe now, we can see what the outside is like.” I said absentmindedly. Then I looked back down.

Yuki looked at me and smiled. “Thanks for showing me this.”

I bashfully grinned. “It’s no biggie really, Yuki.”

Another wind blew and a sad expression appeared on Yuki’s face as she looked away from me. “You know I’ve never seen what the sky looks like before, is it supposed to look like this?”

“Wait, I thought Japan was free from these glass domes.” I said in surprise.

“No there were glass domes around when I was small, so I’ve never seen what the real sky looks like, or felt real wind and anything like that.” Yuki replied.

“Well for some reason, I remember at least that from my past, so to be honest with you Yuki, this is nothing compared to the real thing.” I answered her question from before.

“to see the sky, clouds, sun, moon and the stars would mean the whole world to me at this point. It would be absolutely wonderful.” Yuki said quietly.

I heard her and a idea popped into my head. I smiled at her. “Yuki, if I mean when we get out of here, do you want to have that wish granted?”

She looked at me in surprise. “You mean…”

I nodded. “One of these days, I’ll show you the sky.”

Her eyes grew big and a smile started to form on her face. “You mean it? You promise to do that?”

I nodded. “Promise.”

The smile on her face became bigger as the sad expression that on her face before was now replaced by an incredibly happy one. “Oh thank you, Shea!” She said, hugging me and placing her head on my shoulder.

I froze and heat flooded my face as I blushed again, surprised by what had happened. I was secretly enjoying it though as my heart was going at about a hundred.

She then realized what she had just done and quickly stepped away from me. “Sorry.” She said quietly, lightly blushing.

We looked away from each other, just like two little kids who secretly liked each other, trying to pretend like nothing had happened. We were both silent for what seemed like forever and I decided to break the ice and finally tell her how I felt about her.
Plus I really don’t like silence.

I cleared my throat and sighed. ‘Here goes nothing.’ I thought. “Yuki, I…”

Then it happened.

“BANZAI!” Luca yelled out. He must have jumped out from wherever he was hiding and it sounded like he was heading towards us.

I never had time to react as he pushed me from behind towards Yuki. Automatically both Yuki and I closed our eyes and waited for the impact.

Nothing.

I opened my eyes to find that we were both still standing, though we were much closer to each other than before. Everything seemed and felt fine at first, except for Yuki’s surprised expression.

Then I felt a whole flood of emotions go through me and the feeling of time not passing around us going as I quickly realized something: Yuki and I were…kissing.

My face turned a deep red and I quickly pulled away from her. I stared at her with wide eyes and she stared at me in the same way as I stammered, not able to get any words out.

Luca suddenly laughed like a French person. “Lovers.” He said in an French accent as he wrapped his arm around my shoulder.

Yuki blushed. “Sorry Shea I have to go…get some air…I’ll see you later.” She said turning around quickly and left before I could say anything to her.

I stared at Luca. “Why did you do that?” I asked, my voice cracking from shock.

“What do you mean? That was the plan.” He answered, smiling.

“THAT WAS NOT THE PLAN!” I yelled my face still red with embarrassment.

“Oh yeah that’s right, I might have left a few key details out when I explained it to you.” Luca said slowly, smiling.

“So…you lied?!” I said in astonishment as anger started to build up inside me.

He looked offended at my statement. “Lying is such a negative word. All I did was leaved a few things out, that’s all.”

“That’s still lying.” I pointed out, clenching my fist as my brain plotted whether to put a vicious animal in his pants or to simply push him off the roof. Both plans were extremely tempting at this point.

“But you should have seen your face, oh man you looked like a ripe tomato!” He said laughing.

‘Can I please hit him know?’ I thought as the anger continued to boil inside me and as I started to shake. Thankfully my hair hid the upper portion on my face otherwise Luca could have seen the massive death glare I was giving him while my eye twitched.

Soon I would reach the boiling point and all hell would break loose.

“But hey you got what you wanted and it came with a priceless expression with it, similar to the one you wear now. Wait are you still blushing?”

“No I’m not blushing, I’m pissed off.” I said, trying to stay calm.

“Really? At what?” Luca asked.

Then it came to the point of no return. I was really glad that Yuki had left otherwise I would have trouble to explain to her and the cops why there was a bloody mess on the roof.

“I’m pissed off at you…you…you…” Then I swore a whole mouthful, scaring Luca and the pigeons on the telephone wire.

Luca gave me an expression that read: holy shit. “Well I guess I’d better head inside now.” He said slowly backing away from me.

I knew it, he was going to run. “Oh no you don’t!” I said lunging at him.

He avoided it and ran towards the door.

“Get back here, jackass!” I yelled, chasing him.

We ran around in circles, chasing each other, till Luca fell down the stairs and into the door.

I stopped and stared at him, as he laughed and went inside.

“That’s right, you better run!” I yelled after him. Then I exhaled.

Finally I had time to think. What I told Yuki was true: things were changing. Question is why are they changing now? What was the reason behind these sudden changes?

Eventually my head started to hurt from all this thinking and I looked up at the cracked panel when I took a step towards the stairs and the door.

Next thing I knew I had lost a head butting competition with the door.

I grabbed my nose and rubbed my forehead as I stood up. “stupid stairs.” I muttered, taking one more look at the panel, shook my head and headed inside, hoping I wouldn’t trip anymore.
