Literature Text

The small boy fell faster and farther down into the darkness around him. He could see the light growing dimmer and smaller with each second, the light of a familiar world going away from him.

He had been reaching to touch that light several times already but only to fail each and every time.

Tears were floating in the darkness as the boy, already crying, reached up in his last desperate effort but it too failed.

With the last of his strength he cried out one word before losing consciousness.

The boy then disappeared, swallowed by the darkness, his memories wiped from his mind as some protective measure to hide something important from an evil unknown force.

The only remnants of the boy being there were the floating tears and the last word he said that echoed through the abyss.

"Mother!"

-----------------

A child sized figure wearing a blue raincoat, carrying a book bag, walked through a nearly empty street through the pouring rain. Several people rushed by, carelessly bumped into her really hard as she kept walking down the street.

Suddenly she stopped at an alley and looked in it for some unknown reason. It looked empty and in this dismal weather she could barely see her home, the orphanage, at the end.

A sudden wind blew her towards the alley, as if it wanted her to go in. Obeying the silent command, the girl walked in.

Not long after she had, at the halfway point, she heard crying and curiously followed the sound.  When she found the source, however, it took her by surprise and she gasped.

The source was in fact a small boy hunched over, hidden by trash, sobbing uncontrollably.

She got down on her knees and cleared her throat to speak.

The boy jerked his head up to see who was there with him. Upon seeing the girl, with her hood covering her face, he tried backing away but was already against the wall, cornered. All he could do was to hide his face, which he did.

She tried to talk to him, but he didn't understand the language she was speaking and he couldn't see her face. She reached out to him, but he froze and didn't respond. Then he started shaking. She sighed and decided to try again.

"Are you okay?" She asked him, while taking off her hood.

He looked up to see that this mysterious figure was actually a girl close to his age, with slightly tanned skin and long black hair that was mostly in a funny looking up down with the rest left down in the back and some plastered to her face by the rain. Her eyes were brown but in his eyes her eye color was actually a mixture of warm colors. Her eyes also seemed to be gentle and kind towards him.

She saw his face and what he really looked like. His shirt, jeans, and yellow hoodie were tattered, ripped, and filthy. His face and hands were also dirty. His tan skin was bruised, and cut in various places. His brown hair was extremely messy. His eyes were a beautiful light blue color that held some small light in them.

He had a black eye and tears stains on his cheeks. In all he seemed traumatized, disheveled and out of place compared to his surroundings.

Both their hearts skipped beats when their eyes met for the first time.

A wind chime played it's musical melody thought there was no wind blowing.

The world had stopped in this one defining moment in their lives.

"Are you an angel?" The boy asked, his voice sounding hoarse.

The girl blushed and smiled. "Come on, let's get out of the rain." She said, holding out her hand for him.

He hesitantly grabbed and she pulled him up.

Standing on the cold, wet with his bare feet, he started shivering uncontrollably and sneezed.

The girl opened her bag and pulled out a brand new pair of slippers, that had someone's name on it. She took the name off and handed the slippers to him. He gladly took it and slipped them on his feet. The girl then placed the bag on her other shoulder, opened up her coat and wrapped the boy with half of it and herself with the other half. She zipped the coat up and they became extremely close to each other. The boy was at first surprised at what just happened but soon found himself liking this whole thing and the warmth from being so close to the girl. They held hands inside the coat and a small, shy smile formed on the boy's face. They then walked out of the alley towards the orphanage when another musical melody from the strange wind chime played.

No one was aware on the effect of this destined meeting would have on these two and on the future that had yet to come.

The two lonely angels, destined to meet, had found each other and the memory of this day etched into their minds. Forever.

And thus the stage was set, the players now playing, and an extraordinary adventure, planned at the beginning of time by fate, was now in motion and had now begun.

All in this simple meeting in the rain.

That's a very good story. You're grammar is good. I like all the descriptive words and imagery you put into it.
